Kalinda Gonzaga Joseph
Kalinda began his accounting career in 2009 with Hitesh Mehta & Co., Certified Public Accountant of Uganda, now
Nexia HMS Associates as an Accounts Assistant Trainee.
He rose through the ranks to Audit Manager in 2012 and was heading the Kampala office. He started his CPA course
in July 2012 and completed it in a record 3 years without any exemption by June 2015.
In July 2012, he was promoted to Senior Audit Manager, a position he held until March 2014 when he resigned to start Pie Services & Consult Specialists Limited, a tax consultancy firm.
During his audit engagements, he has been able to do audits of several entities.
Mr. Kalinda Gonzaga Joseph is now a Certified Tax Advisor having completed the course in a record one year in
November 2018 and a top student for Paper 9- Tax Audits, Investigations and Ethics.
Mr. Kalinda Gonzaga Joseph completed his Masters of Business Administration with Edinburg Business School of the Herriot Watt University in 2023.
He was a member of the Taxation and Economic Policy Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of
Uganda from 2021 to December 2022
He is currently a member of the Member Services Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda until 31st December 2025.
Mr. Kalinda has presented 3 papers with ICPAU members on matters of Taxation in March 2020, May 2020 and July
2021. He has also published 3 articles in the Accountants magazine; Understanding the 2020/21 Budget, Electronic
Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing in Uganda and the most recent one being Why Government should rethink taxing bank cash withdraws.
He is also subscribed to the International Federation of Accountants website as well as the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) for webinars for all updates and standards that come up in the accounts
profession.
In December 2021, he was nominated and crowned as the CPA of the year 2021 for his outstanding contribution to the Accounting Profession. This is the highest award of the year in the annual Accountancy Service Awards of the Institute.
